Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026 · Read with our Terms & Conditions

Weddings are personal. The information you share with us deserves the same care as the moments you trust us to capture.

This Privacy Policy explains how The New Riwaaz (“TNR”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit thenewriwaaz.com, contact us, enquire about our services or book wedding content coverage.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 are coming into force in phases between November 2025 and May 2027. We are aligning our practices with them now, and we will update this policy as further provisions take effect.

1. Who we are

The New Riwaaz is a wedding content creation studio based in Delhi-NCR, India, covering weddings across India and Nepal. For the purposes of Indian data protection law, TNR decides why and how your personal data is processed.

Email: [email protected]
Phone / WhatsApp: +91 8796624112
Website: thenewriwaaz.com

Owner approval required: Full legal name of the person or entity operating The New Riwaaz, and a postal address for correspondence.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we reasonably need to respond to you, plan your coverage and deliver your content.

When you enquire (website forms, WhatsApp, phone, email, Instagram or in response to an advertisement):

When you book:

During coverage: photographs, video and audio of the couple, family, guests and others present at your functions (see section 4).

When you browse the website: basic technical information that any website receives, such as your IP address, browser and device type, which is processed by our hosting provider and by services that load content on our pages (see section 8).

Please don't send us sensitive information we haven't asked for, such as identity documents, health details or financial account numbers.

3. How we use your information

We process your information because you have asked us for a quote or a service, because you have given consent, or because the law requires it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (section 9). Withdrawal doesn't affect anything done lawfully before it.

We do not sell personal data.

4. Wedding footage, photographs and guests

Wedding coverage naturally includes images, video and voices of family, friends, guests, performers and vendors. We capture this to deliver the service the couple has booked.

A couple can tell us how they want their own wedding covered, but they cannot give permission on behalf of every adult guest for every possible use of that guest's image. So we work this way:

Media you send us, such as reference photos or family pictures, is used only for your booking.

5. Portfolio and promotional use

Delivering content to you is one thing. Using it to promote TNR is another, and it needs separate permission.

6. How we share information

We share information only where needed to run the business and deliver your booking:

Some of these providers may store data outside India. Where they do, we rely on their published safeguards and will follow any restrictions the Indian government notifies.

7. Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards, including password-protected accounts, limited access for team members who need it, and shared links restricted to the people who should see them. No storage or transfer method is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.

If a personal data breach affects you, we will take steps to contain it, tell you what happened and what you can do, and notify the authorities where the law requires.

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, for our contractual commitments, and for legal and tax record-keeping. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Owner approval required: Actual retention periods for (a) enquiries that don't book, (b) raw footage and edited files after delivery, (c) backups, and (d) invoices and payment records. Only promise deletion timelines you already follow.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) to measure how our ads perform, to count enquiries that come from ads, and to show our ads to people likely to be planning a wedding. It records things like pages visited, buttons clicked and whether an enquiry form was sent, along with your browser and device information. We don't send your name, phone number or form contents to Meta.

The Meta Pixel loads only if you select “Allow” in the cookie banner. If you decline, it isn't loaded. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back. Meta's own use of this data is covered by its privacy policy.

We don't currently use Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising tools.

Some pages load content from third parties, including fonts from Google Fonts, an award badge from WeddingSutra and links to Instagram and WhatsApp. These providers may receive your IP address and browser information when the content loads, under their own privacy policies.

If we add other tools in future, we will update this section and ask for your consent before they load. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

9. Your rights and requests

You can ask us to:

Email [email protected] with the subject line Privacy Request. Tell us who you are, which wedding or content it relates to, and what you'd like us to do. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may have to be kept where the law requires it or to complete an existing booking, and we'll tell you if that applies.

10. Children

Children are often part of wedding celebrations. Our services are booked by adults, and we don't knowingly collect children's contact details.

11. Third-party services and links

Our website links to and works with Instagram, WhatsApp, Google Drive, WeddingSutra and other platforms. We don't control how they handle your data. Please read their privacy policies before sharing information through them.

12. Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when our services, website tools or the law change. The latest version will always be on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you directly and ask for consent where required.

13. Contact and grievances

For privacy questions, requests or complaints:

The New Riwaaz
Email: [email protected]
Phone / WhatsApp: +91 8796624112

We aim to acknowledge requests promptly and respond within a reasonable time, and within any period the law sets. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may be able to approach the Data Protection Board of India once the relevant provisions are in force.

Owner approval required: Name of the person handling privacy requests and grievances, and your target response time (e.g. acknowledge within 7 days, resolve within 30 days).

This policy should be read with our Terms & Conditions.
